H.O.M.E. wanted to fight the Criminalization of Homelessness;
Members of H.O.M.E stood up against the City of Daytona Beach’s sleeping ordinance that had been in place for 40 years. Our organization believed that the sleeping ordinance was unconstitutional. We were successful. The forty year Ordinance was ruled unconstitutional 2012
H.O.M.E. won the right for the homeless to check out Library material.
City Island Library had in place a rule that prohibited homeless men and women from checking out Library material this went against Volusia County Library Policy. H.O.M.E. members challenged this policy and won the right for homeless men and women to check out Library material.
H.O.M.E. is the only social service agency to Join the FAITH Organization.
