Screening services can be provided via face to face or telephone contact. A brief intervention is provided to those who are in immediate crisis which may include providing information and referral to other community resources. Arrangements can also be made for individuals in need of detoxification and/or mental health stabilization. Individuals not in an acute crisis and are appropriate for Haven Recovery Center services are provided an appointment for a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment. Assessment services provide a comprehensive evaluation that identifies the strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences of the person seeking services. The evaluator then presents the evaluation and necessary paperwork and a treatment recommendation to a multi-disciplinary team of clinical professionals. Treatment recommendations are based upon ASAM criteria for each potential level of care. Screening and assessment services are available at multiple locations, though as Haven Recovery Center believes in a “no wrong door” approach to services, screening and assessment services may be conducted off-site in correctional facilities, hospital emergency rooms, or other locations depending upon the specific situation of the individual seeking services. SAVE Docket Program: Ginny Kent, SAVE Docket Coordinator [email protected] 330 North Street, Suite C, Daytona Beach, FL 32114 Phone: (386) 252-5365, extension 1215 Phone: (386) 898-9954, for appointments Hours Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm for Walk-ins SAVE Docket Program was developed through the collaboration of Fighting Against Injustice Toward Harmony (FAITH), law enforcement, community agencies/partners, and the courts. The SAVE Docket allows individuals to complete community service hours or participate in specified programs in lieu of paying court costs. It is not only a financial savings for the individual, but also a cost savings for the taxpayers who support the costs associated with arresting and incarcerating these individuals. In essence, the SAVE Docket could shift the paradigm from sentencing, jail and court cost to opportunities to improve program participants’ lives and the community. However, individuals who choose not to avail themselves of the SAVE Docket options may face progressively more serious consequences. This approach offers fairness and potential cost savings to the participants, the justice system and to local governments. The SAVE Docket has many benefits for participants, some financial and others less tangible. By encouraging individuals to participate in community programs, additional people can take positive steps to improve their conditions. Reductions in outstanding warrants for minor offenses will reduce employment and service access barriers. We are looking for volunteers for the program and for organizations that can provide service hours or services for the participants.
